For a few years now, Champion and Tetsu “Tet” Nishiyama’s brand WTAPS have forged a relationship rooted in exalting casual sportswear styles with a touch of street edge – just look at their “The Academy” series. Once again, the two entities have united for another collaboration specifically for the Spring/Summer 2024 season. Casual and cozy, the new collaboration tosses up hoodies, sweatpants short-sleeve tees and long-sleeve tees. The hoodies and sweatpants are crafted from Super Fleece while the tees come in heavyweight US cotton. Where the fused magic comes from is through Champion’s signature fabrics and WTAPS’ slightly oversized feel. Intending to keep things simple, the collaborative pieces come in shades of bold orange and black. With its simple design, the pieces make for perfect all-year wear even though it’s a SS24 collection. Finishing off the pieces are the WTAPS’ URBAN TERRITORY brand concept embroidery, the red/blue/white Champion logo and a collaborative patch in white. The collection is set to release on Saturday, January 27 online at Champion, Champion’s Tokyo and Osaka Brand Houses, online at WTAPS and select retailers.
