Minase, the esteemed independent Japanese watchmaker, has recently unveiled an exclusive timepiece called the Horizon GEN DLC. This highly sought-after watch is an extremely limited release, with only 25 pieces available worldwide.
The name "GEN" in the watch's reference is derived from the Romanized spelling of the "玄" kanji character. Minase found the character's associations with darkness, depth, and mystery intriguing, which served as inspiration for the timepiece's color palette.
The Horizon GEN DLC showcases Minase's iconic Horizon silhouette, adorned with a striking black DLC coating and a combination of glossy and satin finishes. With a 38mm case diameter, the watch features a PVD-covered steel dial in a tonal design. To further enhance the dark dial, the watch's hands are filled with lume and polished steel, and a date display is positioned at 3 o'clock.
Behind its sleek exterior, this limited-edition watch holds a high-end Swiss-made movement known for its remarkable precision, offering a power reserve of up to 50 hours. The movement is based on the ETA 2892 ébauches and incorporates Minase's proprietary MPS lubrication-free bearings, along with the ETACHRON regular system. Notably, the rotor of the movement is adorned with Minase's distinctive drill head logo.
Enthusiasts and collectors can acquire the Horizon GEN DLC through Minase's official website. Priced at 4,700 CHF (approximately $5,300 USD), this remarkable timepiece is sure to captivate watch lovers with its exquisite design and extraordinary craftsmanship.
