The North Face Urban Exploration Introduces Electric "URBAN PROTECTION" Capsule
The North Face Urban Exploration has unveiled its first capsule of the new year, dubbed “URBAN PROTECTION.” Embracing an “Open Skyline” theme, the new capsule focuses on a “flash” concept, with models hitting the nighttime Hong Kong streets to flex the striking new range of apparel.
The North Face first introduced the “flash” element in 1986, reviving the eye-catching motif across “URBAN PROTECTION”‘s lineup of blue-hued apparel, which spans outerwear, shoes and accessories.
“We are city dwellers, not confined by the urban landscape. Pursue our passions with curiosity and joy, inspired by the city. For us, the city is a vibrant playground where we can express ourselves and find new meanings,” the label wrote in an Instagram caption.
The men’s 1996 NUPTSE Down Jacket leads the offering, equipped with supreme water-repellent and tear-resistant features as well as a snap-in fit with goose down filing. A stowaway hood allows for easy on-and-off. The women’s 2000 RETRO NUPTSE Down Jacket boasts the same functional features, but with a more feminine, edgy silhouette. Elsewhere, the men’s GORE-TEX Jacket intermingles two GORE-TEX styles.
As for the collection’s footwear component, the classic hiking Glenclyffe shoe is reworked in beige and black, landing in low, mid and high styles; the upper is crafted from recycled polyester fibers. Lightweight yet still protective, the Oxeye sneakers ensure maximum cushioning and comfort while walking.
